In addition to the kerbside in the car park of The Plume of Feather, newspapers can be re-cycled (to raise money for the Scouts) and clothes can be recycled (to raise money for the developing world).

Within North Herts Council for Voluntary Service there is a charity called Furniture Link - a charity which provides low cost furniture to the people of North Hertfordshire. The scheme is able to do this by collecting furniture that is donated by local people. They are open to the general public, but people receiving benefits are entitled to a discount on all items. You can also recycle many things with The Letchworth Freecycle group. This group is open to all who want to "recycle" things rather than throw them away. The group covers Letchworth, Baldock, Hitchin and the villages.
