Rand’s Educational Foundation is a registered charity offering financial support to young people under the age of 25 in the villages of Ickleford, Holwell, Pirton and Stondon. The foundation was established by the will of John Rand, who died in 1706, but is now regulated by a charitable trust deed.
The Foundation’s objective is to promote education (including social and physical training) of young people under the age of 25 years. The principal aims are to support young people in full time education from the age of 16 to 25 and when sufficient funds are available, to support local voluntary grounds providing recreational and social activities. The Foundation is managed by 15 governors; the Ickleford Parish Council representative is Colin Thurstance.
