On Saturday 21st April Ickleford held the first event in what it hopes will become an annual series. This was a litter Collection Day for which all residents were invited to take a bag and help clear one of the nine sections into which the village had been divided.
The day was sunny, and all who volunteered - including the scouts and the cubs - enjoyed the task of picking up the multitude of small items they spotted; confounding the pessimists who had thought there was so little lying around anyway! In fact 52 bags, with several large item, found their way into the container kindly lent us by Biffa.
