POLICE are appealing for information and witnesses after a burglary in Ickleford last week (Thursday, December 11).
The incident took place between 1am and 3am at a flat in Walnut Way. The offender(s) apprehended a man as he entered his property. They then threatened him and carried out a search of the property. They stole the keys to his car, a red Volkswagen Sharan, and made off in it in an unknown direction.
The man suffered slight injuries during the incident. The car was later found in Greenfield Avenue.
Detective Sergeant David Ranson said: “We are fully investigating the circumstances of this incident and are appealing for people to contact police if they believe they may have seen or heard anything in the area during the times given.
“If you believe you saw anyone acting suspiciously or saw anyone driving the Volkswagen Sharan in the area during the early hours of Thursday morning, please call police on the non-emergency number on 0845 33 00 222, quoting crime reference number G1/08/4432.
